A portrait of a Native American elder in a traditional feathered headdress, gazing into the distance. I wanted to capture the strength and quiet dignity in his face: every line and crease tells a story of a life fully lived. The most challenging part was building up the texture of the feathers and beadwork layer by layer, letting the dark background push the light forward.

Inspired by the parable of the lost sheep, this piece shows Christ holding a lamb close, eyes closed in a moment of peace and tenderness. I focused on the contrast between the soft, light wool of the lamb and the deep shadows around it, so the light seems to come from the lamb itself. It’s a piece about care, protection and being found.
